Information

Search results are typically available shortly after you submit your search, subject to AFSA and/or MBIE availability.
You will receive an email notification once your search is successfully submitted, followed by another email when all results and certificates are ready for download.

Search Type: Motor Vehicle
Search for a motor vehicle by registration plate or VIN and receive PPSR Search Certificates along with detailed information about the vehicle (if available), including stolen and written-off checks.
The system will verify the registration plate and/or VIN before performing a PPSR search.
If the system cannot verify the VIN you will have the ability to bypass validation if you are confident it is correct.
You can also search for unregistered motor vehicles (e.g., mining or manufacturing equipment) by specifying the VIN (select to bypass validation), Manufacturer's Number, or Chassis Number.
Search Type: Grantor
Search for an organisation or individual grantor to receive PPSR Search Certificates and a detailed search result report in *.xlsx format.
For an organisation search, you can use one or more of the following identifying details: the Organisation Number (ACN, ABN, etc.) or the Organisation Name.
For an individual search, please provide the given name, family name, and date of birth.
Note: Users must have an authorised purpose to conduct an individual grantor search under section 172 of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth).
Search Type: Serial Number
Search for a serial number (e.g., HIN, Aircraft Manufacturer's Number, Aircraft Engine Number, Patent or Trademark Number, etc.) and receive PPSR Search Certificates along with a detailed search result report in *.xlsx format.
While the system validates the format of the supplied identifier (where possible), it does not verify its existence before submitting the search to PPSR.
Search Type: PPSR Registration Number
Search for an existing PPSR Registration Number to receive PPSR Search Certificates and a detailed search result report in *.xlsx format.
While the system validates the format of the supplied PPSR Registration Number, it does not verify its existence before submitting the search to PPSR.
A PPSR Registration Number is a unique 15-digit number assigned when the registration is initially created.
Information about Organisation Search
- Each field entered above will trigger a separate PPSR search.
- A maximum of 3 x organisation lookups are allowed per OTP session
- It is advisable to search using all available fields, as you may not know which identifier was used to register this grantor:
- Organisation Name
- ACN Number
- ABN Number
Motor Vehicle Criteria
- A maximum of 3 x motor vehicle lookups are allowed per OTP session
- You will not be able to proceed with this search if the Rego or VIN entered cannot be found, which likely indicates that the vehicle is not registered.
- You may bypass VIN validation if necessary, provided you are confident that the VIN entered is correct (for example, for an unregistered vehicle).
PPSR Registration Number Information
Search for an existing PPSR Registration Number
While the system validates the format of the supplied PPSR Registration Number, it does not verify its existence before submitting the search to PPSR.
A PPSR Registration Number is a unique 15-digit number assigned when the registration is initially created.
Serial Number Information
For PPSR collateral, a serial number is defined as the identifier by which the PPS Regulations require or permit the collateral to be described in a registration.
Serial numbers are not validated before submitted.
